MITTERSILL - BASIS of PRODUCTS

The WBH production line starts at the mining and ore-dressing plant in Mittersill (Austria, Salzburg). Scheelite (Calcium Tungstate, CaWO4) is extracted in highly automated underground mining operations. The crude ore is transported to the ore-dressing plant in the main Felbertauen valley by means of an environmentally-friendly underground conveyor belt running through a 3-km long tunnel. At the ore-dressing plant the crude ore is converted into a Scheelite concentrate using a flotation process. This Scheelite concentrate covers the bulk of the raw material supply to WBH and provides a source which is both independent and secure.

Mittersill ranks worldwide amongst the most important tungsten mining plants.   It operates to the highest safety and environmental standards in an area close to the "Hohe Tauern" National Park and Nature Reserve.
