Development of the Integrated management systems
As worldwide first company in the tungsten industry, Wolfram had a certified quality management system in accordance with ISO 9001 already in 1994. In order to assure a sustainable handling with our environment on a permanent basis, we implemented an environmental management system according to the ISO 14001 in 1999.
As a part of the continual improvement of our “Integrated Management System” for all sites, we were able to successfully certify a safety and health management system according to OHSAS 18001 in 2010. After the withdrawal of OHSAS 18001 we were able to successfully certify our occupational safety and health management system to the new standard ISO 45001 in 2020.
Due to the growing requirements in the environmental sector, an energy management system in accordance with ISO 14001 was implemented and systematically pursued within the framework of the certified environmental management system.
Wolfram committed to conduct audits under the Conflict-Free Smelter Program (CFSP) in 2015. CFSP is an initiative of the Conflict Free Sourcing Initiative (CFSI), which is considered to be the industry standard in the field of the “smelter-level” industry for tungsten, tin and tantalum.
The protection against unintentional use of conflictive raw materials sources is a requirement of the commitment to the Tungsten Industry – Conflict Mineral Council (TI-CMC, WBH is a founding member) and by the Conflict Mineral Statement of WBH.
The Conflict Free Smelter program was replaced by the Responsible Minerals Assurance Process (RMAP) in 2017, which sets the current compliance requirements for our raw materials.
The continuous development of our “Integrated Management System” is an integral part of our daily work. The feedback from customers, accredited certification bodys and all other “interested parties” makes a significant contribution to the continuous improvement of products, processes and relevant safety, health and environmental aspects.
