Sustainability goals

Sustainability is an issue that affects us all. We not only want to make a difference in the long term – we are committed to it.

Through our commitment, we are able to ensure supply and stability for the future. So, what are we doing to get closer to our goals? We are encouraging the purchase of energy-efficient products and services, investing in the development of recycling capabilities and the use of renewable energy. But only by working together can we achieve our waste, water and emissions reduction goals and build a greener future.

Recycling

Recycling is as much a part of the company as our employees, suppliers and partners. A well-functioning relationship based on shared values from end-to-end: between supplier, carbide producer and tool manufacturer. This ensures a smooth supply chain and the preservation of finite resources.

We take responsibility: To make the recycling process as easy as possible, our experts organize every single step for you and help you optimize your product life cycle (from purchasing to scrap collection, production and replacement). The result is valuable products of the highest quality. This makes it possible to offer greater supply and price stability.

Reducing our carbon footprint

Making a product always requires energy. But nowadays you can turn to renewable energy. And so do we. The short distances and low CO2 emissions of our production process are also part of our commitment to reducing emissions to an absolute minimum. But here, too, we are committed to continuously reducing our carbon footprint through climate and energy protection measures. The use of electricity from hydropower or other renewable sources, the optimization of energy efficiency, and the replacement of petroleum-based auxiliary materials and fuels are part of our environmental strategy.

By 2040, our production will be completely CO2 neutral.

Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)

Setting Science Based Targets is another important step in our sustainable business strategy. As part of the Sandvik Group, of which Wolfram is a division, we are committed to setting targets in accordance with the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi), in line with the Paris Agreement.

Together with the Sandvik Group, we have submitted targets to the Science Based Targets initiative for validation.

Scope 1 and 2 [our own operations, heating and electricity]:
halve emissions by 2030 and reach net zero by 2040.

Scope 3 [customers, suppliers and transportation]:
30% reduction by 2030 and net zero by 2050.
