45 years Wolfram Berg- und Hüttenkapelle

On the 1st weekend in September there was a lot going on in St. Martin im Sulmtal. Around 2000 visitors:inside from Austria and even a delegation from Germany accepted the invitation of Wolfram Berg- und Hüttenkapelle to the 22nd Hütten- und Knappentag.

On this occasion, WOLFRAM opened the doors of the production area for about 120 interested people. The company tour focused on the important topic of recycling. Especially with a raw material that is not available in unlimited quantities, recycling plays a major role. The metal tungsten is very valuable and sustainable handling of it is therefore essential. As early as 1983, the recycling plant was put into operation at the Bergla site. There, used indexable inserts or drill tips, for example, are processed back into tungsten powder. The target for 2030 is a recycling quota of 80 %.

The visitors were very impressed by the company’s production area. It is really something special to be able to look into the heart of tungsten production!

After the tour, the visitors were treated to a delicious homemade ice cream from Nellati in St. Martin i.S. As a small memento of this special afternoon, the visitors were able to take a photo home with them.
