Tungsten carbide powder

Product description

Tungsten carbide (WC) features a unique combination of properties: extremely high hardness combined with very high modulus of elasticity, as well as high electrical and thermal conductivity.

With around 60% tungsten carbide is the most frequently used tungsten compound and is usually employed in hard metals on the basis of WC-Co, WC-mixed carbide- Co, WC-Co/Ni/Fe or in cermets. The quality of the tungsten carbide powders is critical for the alloy properties.

CRC®

Ultra-fine tungsten carbide with BET surface area > 2.4 m2/g

WC

Standard carburized tungsten carbide with Fisher gain sizes from 0.5 – 14 µm

HTWC

High-temperature carburized tungsten carbide with Fisher grain sizes of 2 – 25 µm

Doped carbide

On request all CRC and WC products can also be delivered as doped carbide. Specific Low-Shrinkage properties can be provided for fine-grained types of WC. Exact requirements for grain size and carbon content, as well as any doping elements or other special requests will be defined together with our customers when placing the order.
