Solar power and biogas enable green hydrogen production!
(St. Martin, 18.04.2023) Exactly one year and eleven days ago, Energie Steiermark started the construction of Austria’s first off-site green hydrogen production plant in Gabersdorf, located in the south of Styria. This plant is independent of the electricity grid and produces environmentally friendly hydrogen.
Friday, April 14, the first trailer of green hydrogen arrived at our site in St. Martin. With this first concrete step towards green hydrogen, we have secured an annual volume of approximately 70 tons to make our production even more sustainable.
“The contract with Energie Steiermark enables us to enter the green hydrogen sector and strengthens our sustainability strategy. The proximity of our sites in St. Martin im Sulmtal to the hydrogen production plant contributes to the regional supply of our state-of-the-art production site”, say Andreas Bock and Alex Nieuwpoort.
