Wolfram supports the chemists of tomorrow!

28.04.2023

Around 45 young people who are enthusiastic about chemistry meet in Deutschlandsberg from April 26 – 28, 2023, for the State Competition of the 2023 Chemistry Olympics.

(St. Martin i. S. on 28.04.2023) Participating schools are BHS and AHS from all over Styria. In addition to a theoretical part, there will be a practical examination, which will be conducted by chemistry students from the KFU in Graz. For the best it goes on to the national competition!

Thanks to our financial support, all participating students were presented with a chemistry textbook at the ceremony.

In her welcoming speech, our colleague Dr. Julia Langer congratulated all the bright minds on their excellent performance and also highlighted the extensive career opportunities at Wolfram.

Chemistry plays a major role in the production of tungsten powder. For this reason, Wolfram is very happy to support projects that deal with chemistry:

  • For example, every year we enable a school to participate in the project competition of the Association of Chemistry Teachers by financing an “experimental kit”. This year, the competition was held under the title “With Chemistry for the Environment”.
  • Wolfram regularly participates in activities such as “Take Tech” or “Girls Day” in order to arouse interest in chemistry among young people.
  • At the site in St. Martin i.S. (Styria), we train our skilled workers of tomorrow ourselves. Every year, at least two young people start an apprenticeship in the profession of “laboratory technology-chemistry”.
